Serials showing funny or as "WMIC/DEFAULT STRING"
On Windows 11, WMIC (Windows Management Instrumentation Command) is often missing or disabled. Install it as a Feature on Demand to fix serial/hardware info display.
- Open Settings → System
- Scroll down and select Optional features
- Under Add an optional feature, click View features
- Search for WMIC, select it, then click Next to install
- Restart your PC if prompted
Quick tip: You can also search “Optional features” from the taskbar to open it directly.
